Margueritte Ginnever, 96, of Mansfield passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Arbors at Mifflin. She was born on November 30, 1920 in Apple Creek, OH to the late Corwin and Cora (Hoffman) Swan.
Margueritte was a graduate of Eaton High School and Oberlin Business College. She worked at Tappan for many years and was a trustee of Mansfield General Hospital. She was a member of First English Lutheran Church. She was a member of Mansfield Liederkantz, Mansfield Women’s Bowling Association, a life member of the American Legion Auxiliary McVay Unit 16, and the Mansfield Memorial and Patriotic Association. Margueritte gave many precious hours of community service as she volunteered for the Red Cross and MedCentral hospital where she had the highest total of volunteer hours of 17,533 hours. In her spare time, she loved to bowl, golf, to play cards and was an avid Buckeye fan.
Margueritte is survived by her daughter, Nancy Lou; two grandchildren, Mike and Robin (Duane); two great-grandsons, Boston and Adam; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ginnever; two sisters, Evelyn and Geneva; and a brother, Clare. [last names of those left to grieve her have been removed]
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Southern Care Hospice, 775 Lexington Ave. Mansfield, OH 44907 or to OhioHealth Volunteer Program, 335 Glessner Ave. Mansfield, OH 44902.
