Deceased Name: Dorothy D. Hawman
Dorothy D. Hawman, 94, St. Joseph, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at a local health care center.

Mrs. Hawman was born September 18, 1915, in St. Joseph, the daughter of William Haven and Della ( Leffert ) Aholtz. She married Harold W. Hawman who preceded her in death on August 8, 2001.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Dan Hawman; son-in-law, Gary W. Monaghan; sister, Mary Alice Harrison; and brothers, Dan and George Aholtz. Mrs. Hawman was employed for many years by Garelich's Pharmacy. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Woodson Chapel Christian Church and enjoyed playing cards with her friends. Survivors: daughter, Alice Monaghan, St. Joseph; sons, Harold (Janice) Hawman Jr., St. Joseph, and R. Thomas (Bonnie) Hawman, Olathe, Kan.; daughter-in-law, Judy Hawman, San Jose, Calif.; sisters, Virginia Morris, Lathrop, Mo., and Elizabeth Patten, St. Joseph; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren, and numerous
nieces and nephews.
Service: 10 a.m. Wednesday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday,
Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Tuesday.
The family suggests memorial gifts to Woodson Chapel Christian Church or Second Harvest Food Bank.
