PLATTSBURG, Mo. — Virginia Lucille Morris, 101, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Thursday, June 30, 2011 in a Plattsburg, Mo., health care center.

She was born May 27, 1910 in St. Joseph, the daughter of Della and William Aholtz. She retired from Townsend & Wall Department Store as a salesperson. She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge and King Hill Christian Church.

Virginia was preceded in death by husband, Lacy Morris; her parents; two brothers, Dan and George Aholtz; two sisters, Mary Alice Harrison and Dorothy Hawman; and a great-grandson.

Survivors include her daughter, Barbara (Fred) Sherman of Lathrop, Mo.; son, Stanley (Kay) Morris of Springfield, Ill.; four grandsons, Don Fly, Dwight (Laura) Fly, Michael (Kerri) Morris, and Bill Sherman; three granddaughters, Deanna Grant, Debbie (Harvey) Goldstein, and Amy (John) Hurley; step grandaughter, Sandy Rush; sister, Elizabeth Patten; 15 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, July 2, at the King Hill Christian Church with funeral services following at 11 a.m. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery
