LETHA IOLA CART, 19, DIES; INTERMENT AT MORTON MILLS
Letha Iola Cart, resident of Morton Mills and Villisca nearly all her life, died Saturday at 2:10 a.m. in St. Catherine’s Hospital in Omaha, Nebraska where she was taken ten days previously for treatment for anaemia.
She was born near Noble, Illinois, on January 23, 1909 and came with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Paris Cart to Iowa the next fall. They settled at Morton Mills and lived there until a year ago when they came to Villisca to reside. She was a member of the sophomore class of the high school here.
Her mother preceded her in death last fall. Besides her father, she leaves one brother, Carl and two sisters, Mrs. Roger Ranger and Glee Cart, all of Villisca.
Letha was a member of the Christian Church. Her body was brought home Saturday and was taken to the Fessler & Sutphen Funeral Home where a short funeral service was held Monday at 1:30 p.m and a service was held at 2:30 p.m. that day in the Morton Mills Christian Church in Morton Mills. Both services were conducted by Rev. George W. Kitchen. The singing was by Mrs. Alta Wilson, Mrs. Arthur Talbot, Oscar Focht, and C. C. Anders. The pall bearers were Joe McMahon, John Froyd, Donald Shepherd Wesley Marvick, Tim Marsh, and Robert Holt and interment was in the Morton Mills Cemetery.
