Helen grew up in Palmer and graduated from Palmer High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Wayne Peck in 1949 and they made their home on Prairie Island. Wayne died in 1951. Helen and Elmer Blauhorn were married in 1952 and they made their home east of Palmer where they farmed. Helen received her dietary certification and worked for Palmer Public Schools and Litzenberg Memorial County Hospital. Helen and Elmer retired in 1980 and moved into Central City. Elmer died in 2001. Helen lived for several years in assisted living before moving to Long Term Care in 2008.
For over 50 years, Helen was a member of Zion United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women; and she taught Sunday School and Bible School. After retiring, Helen and Elmer enjoyed traveling and Helen also enjoyed reading.
Those left to cherish her memory are: children, Larry and Sheryl Blauhorn of St. Libory; Vicki Jensen of Central City; and Dianne and Jim Rice of St. Paul; grandchildren - Darrin Jensen, Nicole Elissami, Aaron Buhrman, Natasha Kleier, Gina Jones, Kallie Blauhorn, Allison Blauhorn, and Audra Blauhorn; and eleven great grandchildren.
Helen was preceded in death by: parents, Frank and Rosa Rowlett; husbands, Wayne Peck and Elmer Blauhorn; sons-in-law, Don Goedert and Lee Jensen; brothers, Frank, David and Robert Rowlett; and sisters, Ida Rowlett, Lenora Booher, and Ruby Schlueter.
Burial was in the Archer Evangelical Community Cemetery, Archer, NE.
