Mrs Endres, 71, Dies Here Today
She Was in Musically Outstanding Family
Mrs Mathias A. Endres, 71, member of a family outstanding in Madison musical circles, died today at her home, 2!4 South Charter Street.
She was the mother of Marie Endres. concert master for the Madison Symphony; of Olive Endres. composer and teacher at the Wisconsin School of Music, and of Mrs Frederick A. Kountz, the former Emma Endres. concert pianist who has studied and appeared in concerts in this country and abroad. Mrs Endres' husband, who died in 1933. was organist at St Raphael Catholic Church for many years.
Mrs Endres was a member of St Cecilia's Court No. 955. Catholic Order of Foresters, of the Christian Mothers Society, and of the Sacred Heart League. She had lived in Madison 25 years.
Survivors are a son, Roland, Madison; seven daughters. Olive, Marie, Eulalia, Salome, Mrs Lorenz (Flora M.) Potter and Mrs Mildred Brown, all of Madison, and Mrs (Emma) Kountz. Toledo, Ohio, and two sisters, Mrs Leonard Vetter, Madison, and Mrs Edward Doll, Waunakee.
The body was taken to the Joyce funeral home.
Marie Endres was scheduled to appear as violin soloist In the Madison Civic Symphony concert Tuesday night. Her part in the program has been cancelled because of her mother's death.

Funeral services for Mrs Mathias A. Endres, 71, of 214 South Charter Street, who died Friday, will be hold Monday at 8:30 a. m. at the Joyce Funeral Home and at 9 in St James Catholic Church. Rev John A. Koelzer will officiate, and burial will be in Holy Cross cemetery.
The Women's Catholic Order of Foresters will meet at the funeral home at 8 tonight to recite the rosary, and the Christian Mothers Society will say the rosary at 4 p. m. Sunday.
Alphonse. Joseph, Albert, William, and Gregory Endres and John Doll will be pallbearers. Mrs Endres was the widow of the former organist at St Raphael Cathedral and the mother of Marie and Olive Endres, leading Madison musicians.
