"Abraham M. Busby was born in Carroll county, Ohio, Jan. 25, 1829, died at Alexandria, Neb., Feb. 19, 1909, aged 80 years and 25 days. He was twice married. Oct. 16, 1851, he married Mary E. One child, Earl, of this place, was born to this pair. His living children are Ann Martin and Elizabeth Carden, both of Nebraska; James and George of Kansas, Melvina of Dakota, Calvin and Earl of Nodaway county. Besides these he leaves 28 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Wm. Busby had many friends in Nodaway county. John Busby, of Maryville, is his brother, and Mrs. George Cordell is his sister. None of his children were present at his funeral except Mrs. J. Carden and his son Earl. His body was buried beside that of his wife in the Quitman cemetery to await the resurrection of the just."
