91 Year Old Nordness Man, Born in Norway, Succumbs of Influenza.
DECORAH - Funeral services were held Monday afternoon for John Spilde, 91, of Nordness, who died Thursday at the home of his son, Peter Spilde, after a severe attack of influenza. The services were held in the Fjeltsul funeral home and in the Canoe Ridge church, with the Rev. Alfred E. Bredesen officiating. Burial was made in the Canoe Ridge cemetery.
Mr. Spilde was born in Norway and came to America when he was 21.
The Following children survive; Mrs. Jens Spilde, Stoughton, Wis; Mrs. Howard Spilde, Ingomen, Mont.; Mrs Tena Rasmus, Vienna, S. Dak.; Mrs. Anna Otteson, Beloit, Wis.; Mrs. Louisa Segmiller, Decorah; Mrs. Helmer Spilde, Decorah; Peter and Henry, both of Decorah, Two sisters also survive.
