Obituary: Alvin Leo Jorgensen
7/23/45 ~ 3/5/04

Alvin was born to Alvin Udell and Ida Pearl Garrard Jorgensen in Salt Lake City and left this mortal existence after a valiant battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's disease). He loved camping, fishing, and the many children who touched his life as a school crossing guard. He derived a great deal of joy from spending time with his grandsons, Justin (5), and Bryan (3). He will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

Survived by his children, Michael (Robyn), Shaun (Amber) Cline, Teri (Rick) Fritz, and Audrey (Mike) Macdonald; grandsons, Justin and Bryan; sisters, Debbie (Todd) Grizzle and Gloria (Joe) Boberg; brothers, Jimmy and Dick (Sveta); and foster parent, Stan Shelly. Preceded in death by parents, Alvin U. and Ida P. Jorgensen; brother, Samuel Jay Jorgensen; and foster mother, Beth Shelly.

The family would like to thank all the doctors, nurses and staff at the South Davis Community Hospital for the compassionate, loving care and comfort they provided during Alvin's last days. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Project ALS to help find a cure for Lou Gehrig's disease.

Viewing to be held Sunday, March 7, 2004 from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 12:15-1:15 p.m. at Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. South Temple. Graveside services to be held at 2 p.m. Monday, March 8, 2004, at Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 S. Highland Drive in SLC.
