Clarence L. Kauffman, 88, formerly of Elm Street, Mohrsville, died Sunday at 6 p.m. in Pottsville Hospital, where he had been a patient since Friday.
He was taken to the hospital from Pinebrook Personal Care Center, Orwigsburg, Schuylkill County, where he had resided since October 1997.
His wife, Thelma M. (Ulrich) Kauffman, died Oct. 20, 1988.
Born in Dauberville, he was a son of the late Charles D. and Sallie S. (Schrack) Kauffman.
Kauffman had been employed 32 years by the former Diener Knitting Mills, Leesport, retiring as a supervisor in 1975. He was later employed 11 years as a barber at Berks Heim.
A member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Salem (Belleman's) Union Church, Centre Township, he was a former consistory member.
Kauffman was a 50-year member of Washington Camp 446, Patriotic Order Sons of America, Centerport.
He was a member of the Mohrsville Sesquicentennial Committee in 1986.
Surviving is a nephew, Kenneth Troutman, Highland, Calif.
Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. in Leibensperger Funeral Home Inc., Centerport. Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Township.
