Centerport, Nov. 7 - Charles D. Kauffman, 86, formerly of Mohrsville, died this morning at 7:45 o'clock in the Laurel Nursing Home, Hamburg.
Born in Center Township, a son of the late Jacoband Mary Ann (Dukelberger) Kauffman, he was employed by the Crown Knitting Mills, Mohrsville, for 35 years until his retirement 13 years ago.
Kauffman was a member of the United Church of Christ denomination of Belleman's Union Church, Mohrsville R.D. 1, and Camp 446, Patriotic Order Sons of America, here. His wife, Sallie S. (Schrack) Kauffman, died in 1951.
Surviving are a daughter, Sallie R., widow of Grant E. Troutman, Stouchsburg; a son, Clarence L., Mohrsville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and a stepsister, Rebecca, widow of Edwin Unger, address unknown.
Services will be held on Friday at 2:30 p.m. in the Naftzinger Funeral Home, this place, the Rev. Mervin A. Heller officiating. Burial will be made in Belleman's Union Cemetery, Mohrsville R.D. 1.
