Stouchsburg, Nov. 22 - Earl C. Kauffman, 62, of this community, died yesterday in the Reading Hospital, where he had been a patient since Sept. 30.
Born in Dauberville, a son of Charles D. and the late Sallie S. (Schrack) Kauffman, he had operated a general store in Philadelphia.
Kauffman was a member of the United Church of Christ congregation of Salem (Belleman's) Union Church; the Stouchsburg Rod & Gun Club; St. John's Lodge 115, F&AM, Philadelphia; Centerport Camp 446, Patriotic Order Sons of America, and Henry Stager Commandery 35, LS of A.
In addition to his father, he is survived by a daughter, Sandra, wife of Robert Birchfield, Arnold R.D. 3, Md.; three grandchildren, a sister, Sallie R., widow of Grant Troutman, with whom he last resided, and a brother, Clarence L. of Mohrsville.
Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. in the Naftzinger Funeral Home, Centerport, the Rev. Dr. Melvin A. Heller officiating.
Burial will follow in Belleman's Church Cemetery.
