Henry D. Grasham
Henry D. Grasham, 85, of 433 Smith St., died at 12:10 a.m. Monday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. J R. Carey in Danville. He had been ill about one year. Members of the Danville-Boyle County Rescue Squad, Leonard Coffman and Jimmy Harlow, responded to a call to Mrs. Carey's home at 12:33 a.m. Monday, but Mr. Grasham' was dead on arrival.
Mr. Grasham was a retired employee of Southern Railway. He belonged to the Christian Church and the Grand Lodge of Machinists.
A native of Roane County, Tennessee, he had lived here since 1921. He was born Dec. 23, 1892. Mr. Grasham 's wife, Tressie, died five weeks ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Carey; two sons, Ernest Grasham of Louisville and James Grasham of Danville; one brother, Carl Grasham of Oakdale, Tenn.; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Bingham of Oakdale, Mrs. Mary Herron and Mrs. Ollie Smith, both of Oliver, Springs, Tenn.; six grandchildren and six-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Hartwell Neal at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Stith Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home.
