Orene Maloy

Funeral services were conducted Feb. 10 for Minnie Orene Stafford Maloy of Eupora who died Feb. 8 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo from cardiac arrest. She was 67.

A native of Houston and former resident of West Point, Mrs. Maloy had resided in Eupora for the past 25 years. She was employed as a waitress, but later worked in the dietary department for a local nursing home.

She was the widow of Don Maloy and was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

Survivors are her daughter, Mary Louise Miles of Fresno, Calif.; three grandchildren; sisters, Elsie Wiley of West Point and Thelma Bryan of Harvest, Ala.; and brother John E. Stafford of Vicksburg.

Pallbearers were Larry Stafford, Ricky Stafford, William "Billy" Wiley, Clarence Wiley, Jr., Oscar Gay, David Hancock, Robert Champion and Bubba Stafford. Honorary pallbearers were Gunter Ballard, Jimmy Patridge, Eddie Patridge, J. W. Pinkerton, Butch Mason, Dr. Pat Ewing and Dr. Charles A. Osborne.

The Rev. J. B. Rowe and the Rev. James "Dee" Bryan officiated services from Calvert Funera Home Chapel in West Point. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home was in charge.
