West Point, Miss. – Elsie Irene Stafford Wiley, 89, passed away Monday, Oct. 7, 2002, at Clay County Medical Center in West Point. Services were held Thursday at 2 pm at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Partin officiating. Burial followed at Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of the funeral home.
A native of Sparta, Wiley was the daughter of the late James Nuland Stafford and Mary Saletta Lanham Stafford. She married Clarence Thomas Wiley, Sr., Dec. 19, 1936. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1993. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Elaine Fields and Nancy Densmore both of West Point; two sons, Calrence T Wiley, Jr. of Starkville, and William E "Billy" Wiley of West Point; nine grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one brother, John Ed Stafford of Vicksburg.
Pallbearers were Mark York, J W Pinkerton, Jr., Joe Skelton, Eddie Decker, Steve Coleman, and Larry Stafford. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Andrew Wartak, J F Ellis, Herman Shirley, J W Pinkerton, Sr., and Bobby Horner.
