Hattie Ella DAVIES is the biological daughter of Lewis James DAVIES and Winifred L JAMES of Wales. They emigrated to America with their 5 children and settled in Kane Co., Illinois. Hattie was born shortly after arriving. Unfortunately, just a few months after Hattie's birth her father died of Typhoid Fever. Unable to care for Hattie and provide for a family of 6 alone, she allowed a childless couple, John Henry Thomas and Mary Ella (Kenyon) JANE to adopt Hattie. Her adoptive parents moved to South Dakota where she met and married James William HILLMER. The ranched in Valley Township outside of Blunt.
