Lewis and his wife, Winifred L. (James) DAVIES were married in Wales 24 Nov 1873 and emigrated to America 13 Jun 1881 on ship "Celtic" and made there way to Kane Co., Illinois. They had five children with them: Elizabeth Ellen 1873, Richard Owen 1875, Catherine Jane 1876, Henry Thomas 1878 and Lewis James 1880. They settled in Plato, Kane Co. and a daughter, Hattie Ella was born in Nov 1881. Unfortunately, Lewis contracted Typhoid Fever and died in Feb 1882. According to his death certificate, he was buried in Harmony Cemetery in McHenry Co., Illinois. We have been unable to locate a headstone. Help would be appreciated.
