Terry Allen Blackwell, 52, of Boiling Springs, SC, died Tuesday, March 6, 2012.

Born May 18, 1959, in Spartanburg, he was a son of Mitchell A. Blackwell of Cowpens, SC, and the late Miriam (King) Blackwell.

Mr. Blackwell was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church where he enjoyed participating in many activities.

He was employed with the Charles Lea Center through the Work Ability Program and he was also an avid bowler.

In addition to his father, survivors include his brother, Mitchell Shell Blackwell and wife Tandy of Spartanburg; sister-in-law, Wendy M. Blackwell of Cowpens; four nieces; two nephews; two great nieces; five great nephews; a special aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Jim Metcalf of Spartanburg; and many loving cousins.

He was predeceased by a sister, Karen Joy Blackwell; and a brother, Stephen Scott Blackwell.

Visitation was be 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, March 8, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, March 9, 2012, at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel, by the Rev. Jack A. Caldwell. Burial was in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.

Memorials could be made to El Bethel United Methodist Church, 820 S. Church Street, Spartanburg, SC 29306; or Charles Lea Center Residents Fund, 195 Burdette Street, Spartanburg, SC 29307.

Honorary escort was El Bethel United Methodist Church family and Charles Lea Center staff.
