A native of Spartanburg, she was the daughter of Lillie Mae (LeMaster) King (1919-2004) and the late Thomas Conrad King (1913-1963).
She was a member of El Bethel United Methodist Church, where she was a member of E. W. Brown Sunday school class and a member of the senior citizen's group.
Surviving are three sons, Stephen Scott Blackwell, Terry Allen Blackwell, and Mitchell Shell Blackwell; a sister, Carolyn K Metcalf; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
The family received friends at Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel from 7:00-9:00 PM Wednesday, May 26, 1999.
Graveside services were held 11:00 AM Thursday, May 27, 1999 in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. Olin Shytle.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could be made to Hospice Special Needs Fund, Flight Against Cancer Today or El Bethel United Methodist Church.
