Fannie was the 5th of 9 children born to Benjamin Coleman & Mary Ann (Ellett) Coghill. She married Lewis Duke, Jr. on March 1, 1860 in Henderson County, Illinois. They had 9 children: Clyde, Mary Kezia, George, Grace, Benjamin, Anna, Victor, Blanche, and Cleo. Her husband died in 1913 and many of her children had re-located to California, so undoubtedly she was living with one of them at the time of her death.
