Nancy Bell Ashcraft was the daughter of Jeddiah and Barbara Miller Ashcraft. She was born in Larue County, formerly Hardin County, Kentucky, where both the Ashcrafts and Millers were pioneers. When Nancy was about two years old, the family moved north, and they settled in Mt. Pleasant Township, Atchison County, Kansas Territory.

On 26 Dec 1867, Nannie married Jeremiah Packard Pease in Atchison County.

Nancy and Nehemiah were the parents of: William H., John H., Albert Jedediah, Charles M., Dana Clyde, Alice L. and Frank H.

Nannie died in 1882 at the age of 32, shortly after the birth of her son, Frank, who died less than one month later. They are buried side by side in the Ashcraft family plot. Nehemiah is nearby.
