Husband of Lucy May Hudson Hatch and Lillian Grover Hatch.

Parley Zenos Hatch, 56, of Bountiful and long-time instructor at Salt Lake City schools, died Thursday at 7:20 p.m. in a Salt Lake hospital of a brain tumor. Mr Hatch had been ill for several months.

A teacher at Bryant lower division high school for 13 years, Mr. Hatch had also served as an instructor at lower division high Roosevelt school in Salt Lake City for seven years. Seven other years he instructed in other Salt Lake county schools, and he taught school in the Idaho Falls, Idaho, school district for five years, when the family resided there. He was graduated from the University of Utah and received post-graduate work at the U.S.A.C. in Logan. He resigned from teaching about two months ago.

Besides teaching duties, he was a worker in Bountiful Second ward and South Davis stake. In the later, he served in the stake Sunday school board for several years, and in his ward was president of the Y.M.M.I.A. for a number of years. Mr. Hatch was a member of the high priests quorum and served many years as a ward teacher.

A son of Parley E. and Jane Ann Albrand Hatch, he was born January 31, 1888 in Salt Lake City. He married Elaine Grover in the Salt Lake Temple on June 1, 1916.

Besides his widow, he is survived by two sons, Major Merril G. Hatch, with the army in the south pacific, and seaman Dale G. Hatch, U.S. navy at Galveston, Texas; two daughters, Barbara Jane Hatch and Janice Hatch of Bountiful and one grandson.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 4:30 p.m., in Bountiful Second ward chapel, with Bishop Lloyd Riley officiating. Burial in Bountiful cemetery, will be under the direction of Union mortuary of Bountiful.

Friends may call Sunday until 9 p.m. at the mortuary and Monday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the family home, 524 South Second East street, Bountiful.
