Daughter of Parley Zenos and Lillian Grover Hatch.

Wife of Gerald William McArdle.

Barbara J. McArdle, 78, passed away Friday, June 27, 2003 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

She was born January 17, 1925 in Woods Cross, Utah to Parley Zenos and Lillian Grover Hatch. Barbara graduated from Davis High School in 1943. Following her graduation, she worked at the telephone company and at Western Union. She married Gerald W. McArdle on October 14, 1944. Barbara lived her life devoted to her husband, her family and friends. For 52 years, "Barb and Jerry" showed us all how lovers can be best friends. Their natural affection and love for each other will be remembered by all who knew them. Barbara deeply loved her children and "Grandma Barb" showered her grandchildren with her time and her love. Barbara's home was always open to friends and was a welcome place for family gatherings. Barbara loved "the cabin" at Sylvan Bay in Pinedale, Wyoming where the family has a summer home. Barbara "left her heart" in Bountiful and was a lifetime resident of Davis County. We will fondly remember Barbara's strong will and bright smile, her thunderous sneeze and heavy purse, her fried chicken and potato salad, her infectious laugh and abundant love.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald William McArdle and her three brothers, Merrill G. (Charlie) Hatch, Wendell G. Hatch and Dale G. (LuAnn) Hatch. She is survived by her sister, Janice (Calvin) Boynton; her three children, Kevin Gerald McArdle, Susie (Michael) Allred, Michael William (Tammy) McArdle; her five grandchildren, Jamie (Stephen) Allred Barnes, Anthony Michael Allred, Danielle McArdle, Jessica McArdle and Angela McArdle.
