Sunday morning July 25th 1909 at 11, am, Mrs. Mercy Auchampaugh, of Chronic Bronchitis, aged 72 years, 4 months and 12 days. Funeral services were held from the Christian church, Wednesday at 11 o'clock, Rev. D. I. Putnam officiating. Burial in Grove Cemetery. One by one, ranks are broken, homes saddened, communities made to mourn, chairs made vacant, and cemeteries contain the lifeless form of another one to moulder away to dust, yet in all, this hope bends forward with unexpectant joy, and proclaims, although dead, yet shall ye live again. Sad as it may seem to the home circle when the last farewell is said, and the silver thread broken, it is but transitory, for a brighter and beyond awaits all who try as best they can to make this life sweet and shed an influence for good, whereby th world is better off for their living in it. The family and friends of all the deceased have our sympathy in this their hour of bereavement, and to Him who rules and guides the universe do we commend for consoling thoughts in the hour of affliction.
