MRS. EDITH F. BLACKMER
MANCHESTER CENTER - Mrs. Edith (Fleming) Blackmer, 60, died suddenly Sunday in her home here.
Born in Manchester Depot Sunday May 13, 1900, the daughter of Clarence and Helen (Reed) Fleming, she had been a telephone operator in Manchester Center for 40 years and was given a testimonial dinner in her 35th year. She was a member of Pioneers of America, a telephone organization; Zion Episcopal Church of Manchester Center; and the Manchester Depot American Legion Auxillary. She attended Burr and Burton Seminary.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Stacey and Mrs. Jack Bell of Manchester Center; a son, Daniel F. Blackmer of Manchester Depot; brothers, Clifford Fleming of Manchester Center, Maurice Fleming of Allston, Mass. and six grandchildren and several cousins.
Funeral services were held this afternoon. Burial was in Factory Point Cemetery here.
