Mary I. Graber, 82, Sarasota, died Aug. 12, 2000.

She was born Oct. 23, 1917, in Wolford, N.D., and came to Sarasota in 1969 from Broadway, Va. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel Mennonite Church and formerly attended Palm Grove Mennonite Church.

Survivors include eight daughters, Shirley Yoder, Marlene Johnson, Arla Weldy, Iris Helmuth, Annamary Kennell and Fern Mullet, all of Sarasota, and Luelle Emswiler and Dorothy Hertzler, both of Harrisonburg, Va.; five sons, Verlin L., Gary and Terry, all of Sarasota, Vernon of Linville, Va., and Larry of Springdale, Ark.; 36 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Bethel Mennonite Church. The service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Park. Wiegand Brothers Funeral Home is in charge.
