Vermal E."Vern" Allison
Vermal E. "Vern" Allison, 86, of Ferndale for 56 years and formerly of Hazel Park, died Monday, Nov. 22, 2004, at Botsford Extended Care, Farmington Hills. He was born Sept. 28, 1918, in Sparta, Tenn.

Mr. Allison worked 40 years as a tool inspector for Soss Manufacturing, retiring in 1975.

Surviving are his wife, Catherine A. Allison, whom he married April 5, 1968, in Ferndale; son, Allen R. (Linda) Allison of West Bloomfield; daughters, Patricia (William) Peterson of Livonia and Peggy (Richard) Shankin of Berkley; brother, Bill Allison of Sparta; sisters, Berchie Allison of Sparta and Lou Ann Allison of Troy; grandchildren, Amy and Christopher (Deborah) Allison and Derek (Helen) and Kevin Sadaj; and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation, 2-9 p.m. today, 500 W. Nine Mile, Ferndale; funeral service, 11 a.m. Wednesday, funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Paul F. Gateman of Zion Lutheran Church;
burial, White Chapel Memorial Cemetery, Troy; memorials, donor's choice.
