He was born in Effingham County and practiced dentistry in Sylvania for more than 51 years. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Sylvania First United Methodist Church in Sylvania. He was a member for 58 years and past president of the Sylvania Rotary Club. He was a member of the Board of Directors at Farmers and Merchant Bank in Sylvania, a member of Claude Pinckney Sunday School Class and a former councilman for the city of Sylvania.
Survivors: his wife, Agnes S. Tebeau of Sylvania; a daughter, Susan T. McKinney of Dalton; two sons, R. Thomas Tebeau Jr. of Adel and John R. Tebeau of Thomson; two sisters, Leighton T. Harden of Springfield and Sybil T. Adams of Shreveport, La.; two brothers, Otis and Ernest Tebeau, both of Springfield; and six grandchildren.
Funeral: 4 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church, burial in Screven County Memorial Cemetery.
