A. C. Massengill, 49, resident of Highway 51 North, died at 11:25 p.m. Monday at the family residence after an extended illness.
He had resided in Jackson for three years, formerly making his home in New Albany. He was born and reared in Rienzi, and a lumber buyer by profession. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nell Wilson Massengill, Jackson; two daughters, Mrs. Lawrence Weathersby, Memphis, and Mrs. Elton Roberts, New Albany; three sons, James A. Massengill, US Air Force, Shepherd Field, Texas; Amos Massengill, and Douglas Massengill, both of New Albany; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arland Massengill, of Memphis; two sisters, Mrs. E.M. Burgess and Mrs. H.A. Smith, both of Memphis; two brothers, Amos and Hugh Massengill, both of Memphis.
The remains will be at Baldwin Funeral Home until the services. Service will be held Wednesday at 4 p.m. at the Sardis Baptist Church in Rienzi with the Rev. Clifford Rhienhart officiating.
