Carroll Louise Owens, 73, of Marlin, passed away Thursday Feb. 16, 2012, after battling cancer for four years. Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, Waco, with the Rev. Steve Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Powers Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Louise was born in Cedar Springs, Texas, to the late Lonnie Carroll and Vera Faye "Westerman" Hamrick. She graduated in 1957 from Milby High School in Houston. Louise married Hughie W. Owens on Sep. 8, 1984 in Falls County. She retired from HEB in Marlin after 16 years of service. Louise loved living in the country, and her pack of Chihuahuas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hughie Owens on Feb. 24, 1997; and grandson, Michael Eric McDonald.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Brooks and fiancé, Brandon Hazel; brothers, Ivan Hamrick and wife, Shirley, Lonnie Frank Hamrick and wife, Suzanne, and James Hamrick and wife, Donna; and numerous extended family and friends.
