Velma "Mae" Sears was born February 5, 1910, at Rochester, Illinois. She was the daughter of George Henry Best and Mary Robb Best. She was married to Arthur Joseph Sears on April 9, 1932 at Waukegan, Illinois. She lived out the rest of her life at Waukegan, and raised 5 children, L. W. "Jerry" Sears, Judy Sears McGuinness, Patricia Sears Watson, Colleen May Sears Larsen and Corrine Kay Sears DeNardis. She died on May 6, 1992
