On August 21st, 1916 she married Benjamin Moss Mohler in Jackson County, Missouri. One son, Paul Dean Mohler was born to this marriage and he proceeded her in death in 1977. Ben died March 9th, 1927 in St. Joseph after being struck by another person and falling to the pavement. This fractured his skull on the back.
Velma married Cleo Herman Rhoad in Maysville January 30th, 1923. Of this marriage two children were born, Carmen Cleo Rhoad and Lila Louise Rhoad.
Cleo was killed in a work accident when he was crushed between the dump body and the truck frame. He worked for the highway department when this happened.
Velma was living in Wathena, Kansas when she died, May 1987.
She was buried with her husband Cleo in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Maysville, DeKalb County, Missouri.
