Allie M. Niederhauser, daughter of Julius R. and Ella M. Steiner, was born in DeKalb County on December 30, 1887 and passed away January 17, 1980 at the Cameron Community hospital at the age of 92 years and 18 days. Allie united with the Methodist Church at Epworth Chapel in her youth. She transferred her membership to the Maysville Methodist Church in 1947. On March 23, 1903 she was united in marriage to Jacob V. Niederhauser, who preceded her in death in May 1952 at Maysville. To this union to children were born, both of whom preceded her in death; Truman F. Passed away at the age of 35 and Thelma Irene who died at the age of nine months. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and two brothers. She is survived by four grandchildren Don Niederhauser, Macon; Joyce Sherard, Maysville; Dean Niederhauser, Quincy, Illinois; and Jean Berry, Maysville. Also surviving are one great granddaughter and eight great grandsons. Allie is also survived by four sisters and one brother; Hattie Allen, Yakima Washington; Edith Roach, Palm Springs California; and Thelma Rhoad, Maysville; Winnie Keller, St. Joseph; and Earl Steiner, Amity. She is further survived by several nieces and nephews and many friends. She lived a long, active life. Her favorite pastime was quilting. The exact numbers she made is uncertain, but each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have a hand quilted treasure to remember her by. Services were Saturday, January 19, 1980 at the Bram Chapel at 2 PM by Rev. Charles Harrison of Maysville. Burial was in the Oaklawn Cemetery in Maysville.
