Rollin D. Housenga, age 67, died on January 13, 2010, at Springhurst Health Campus in Greenfield. Born on April 16, 1942, he was the son of Harold and Dorothy (Smith) Housenga. Mr. Housenga received his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University in 1964 and worked as a buyer for Kroger Corp. for 34 years before retiring. He was a member of Hancock Baptist Church and volunteered at Hancock Regional Hospital.
Surviving him are his children, Terry (Lisa) Housenga of Greenfield, Rene (David) Guzman of Greenfield, and Jerry (Kristin) Housenga of Lititz, PA; sister, Roberta (Joe) Randall of Savanna, IL; and grandchildren, Carly, Ryan, Eric, Matthew, Aaron, and Nathan. Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Harry J. Housenga; and sister, Irene Pape.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, January 17, 2010, at Erlewein Mortuary in Greenfield from 2:00 until 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will take place on Monday, January 18, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at the mortuary. Pastor Mark Judy will be officiating and burial will take place at Washington Park East.
