Mrs. Frances E. Pettit, 41 years old, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. Clarence Fleener, who 1115 Monroe St., at 11:55 PM Thursday. She was the daughter of Elam C. and Polly Elkins Hopwood, born in Ottumwa July 27, 1905. She had lived in Ottumwa practically all her life. Surviving are a son, Edgar, Ottumwa, her mother, Mrs. Hopwood, Ottumwa, three sisters Mrs. Devina Monohon, Mrs. Susie Fleener, and Mrs. Florence Updike, all of Ottumwa, two brothers, Clarence Hopwood of Ottumwa and Cloyd Hopwood of Blakesburg, Route 2, a grandson Jackie Hopwood, Ottumwa, and a granddaughter, Emma Lou Hopwood, Ottumwa. One sister and her father preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:30 AM at the Johnson funeral Chapel, in charge of the Rev. Charles A. Albin of the Church of the Brethren.
