Early Life: Bennie "Ben" was born March 19, 1929, in Cardston, Alberta, Canada, to Frank and Emma Olsen, the sixth of nine children.
Life’s Work | Service | Interests: Following a mission to the Southern United States, predominantly, South Carolina, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he married Lydia Merline Bentwet in the Salt Lake Temple on April 5, 1951. In 1955, he obtained his Masters of Science degree from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and began his 34-year career as an oil and gas exploration geologist with Shell Oil Company. Bennie Lamar "Ben" Olsen died in Springville, Utah, on Friday August 31, 2018. He was 89.
Survived By: His wife, Lydia; son, Jeff; a granddaughter, Tatiana; and five great grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Two sons, his parents and a granddaughter.
