Our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away on February 1, 2009 in the comfort of her home.

She was born June 16, 1918 in Raymond, Alberta, Canada to Benjamin Franklin Olsen and Emma Amelia Vance.

She was a spiritual giant for her family and those she associated with and also an example of faith and trust in her Heavenly Father. She did not look for glory of man, she went about doing what she could to provide for her family and fulfilling her church responsibilities ~ serving and giving in a humble manner with no need for praise. She never waivered in her support to her husband as he performed his responsibilities at home, work and as a church leader.

She served diligently as a humble servant of her Heavenly Father in the Relief Society and Primary organizations as an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple for 13 1/2 years. She was a member and served as President of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Rowan, her parents, two brothers and one sister. She is survived by three brothers, two sisters and her children, Gladys Gail Smith (Kay), Gerald Olsen (Judy), Ronald Mark (Carole), Rowan Douglas (Paula), Linda Mae Paul (Brice), Laurel Rae Clark Pettersson (William), Clara Dee Bergeson (Glenn), Brent Lee (Colleen), Russell Lynn (Debi) 41 grandchildren, 79 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the East Midvale 2nd Ward Chapel, 7250 S. 300 East. Friends and family may call on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Memorial Estates Mortuary, 5850 South 900 East, also on Saturday at the Church from 9:30-11:00 a.m. or 1 1/2 hours prior.
