LAYER - Charles B. Layer, 68 years, of 3411 Simpson St., died Friday at a local hospital. Survivors, widow, Mrs. Emilie Layer; daughter, Mrs. Frances Keeton; grandson, James and Charles Keeton; sister, Mrs. Paul F. Gueldner. He was a member of the Anton Wenzel Lodge, Hermann Sons, San Antonio Area No. 70, F.O.E.; firemen relief fund. Rosary will be recited at the parlors Sunday at 8 p.m. Services at the chapel of the Riebe Funeral Home Monday at 8:30 a.m., followed by requiem mass at St. Henry's Church, Rev. Henry Herbst officiating. Interment in Mission Burial Park. Active pallbearers will be the firemen. Honorary pallbearers, Theo Simmang, Charles Simmang, William Motoy, J.A. Mitchell, H.C. Johnson, Jake Rubiola, A.N. Steible of Jourdanton, Jay Eveton, Adolph Solmsky, Sequin.
