He married Blanche Cooper on August 8, 1901, in Lincoln, Kentucky. He then married Ida Mae Ashbrook and they had five children together. He died on January 8, 1960, in Shelby, Kentucky, at the age of 84, and was buried in Lebanon, Kentucky.
