John Watt Briscoe was born on November 10, 1910*, in Boyle County, Kentucky, his father, Robert Harbison Briscoe, was 35 and his mother, Ida Mae Ashbrook Briscoe, was 21. His mother died in 1927 and his father remarried, his step mother was Blanche Cooper Briscoe. Watt married Evelyn Polley (daughter of JT Polley and Maggie Settles Polley) on September 27th 1930 in Jeffersonville, Clark County, Indiana. They had two children Robert "Bobbie" Thomas Briscoe 1931-1994, and Mattie Ellen Briscoe Seeley 1935-1997. He died in 1961 at the age of 51, and was buried in Lebanon, Marion County, Kentucky at the Ryder Cemetery.
