Hold Services For Montpelier Woman

Funeral services for Naomi Phelps Jensen, 73, who died September 15, in Bear Lake Memorial Hospital, were at 1 p.m., Tuesday in the Montpelier LDS Third-Fifth Ward Chapel.
Bishop Earl R. Wilcox conducted, the prayer at the mortuary was offered by J. Everett Jensen and Mrs. Philip Hulme played prelude and postlude music.

Opening vocal selection was by a ladies’ trio, Mrs. Glenn Barnson, Mrs. David P. Jensen and Mrs. Howard Tolley; invocation, Grove Phelps; remarks, Bishop Wilcox; life sketch, Denis E. Jensen; musical number, “Will You Love Me Forever,” Mrs. Glen Newbury, accompanied by Mrs. Mark Dover; “My Life’s Testimony,” thoughts by deceased given by Mrs. Paul Adams; music by Mrs. Newbury; speaker, Edward Sorenson; musical number, “Does the Journey Seem Long,” Mrs. Marden Phelps, accompanied by Mrs. Roy Jacobson; benediction, Merrill Lewis.

Interment was in the Montpelier cemetery and the grave was dedicated by Hawley R. Phelps.
Pall bearers were M. Kent Lewis, Denis E. Jensen, Kimnor R. Jensen, Matt T. Lewis, G. Mark Dover and W. Glen Newbury.

A native of Alton and lifelong resident of Bear Lake County, who resided in Montpelier many years, she was born April 27, 1899, to Ezra J. and Jane Robert Phelps. She was married to James Jensen, September 28, 1916. He died in March, 1959. She was an active member of the LDS Church.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters, J. Everett Jensen and Mrs. Dee (Juanita) Gray, both of Idaho Falls; Richard C. Jensen of Bountiful, Roger G. Jensen and Mrs.
Merrill (Ramona) Lewis, both of Montpelier; 22 grandchildren; and four brothers, Hawley R. Phelps of Montpelier, Reed R. Phelps of Blue Diamond, Nevada; Hugh M. Phelps of Laurel, Montana and Lynn E. Phelps of Idaho Falls.
