CROCKER (from a newspaper clipping saved by family in a scrapbook--no paper's name provided)
Sarah Ellen Crocker was the daughter of Andrew and Sarah (Baker) Snyder. She was born on the 29th of January, 1838, Marshall county, Virginia, now West Virginia. She came with her parents to the territory of Iowas, in the Spring of 1844, and settled in Pleasant Grove township, Des Moines county. There Mrs. Crocker lived and grew to womanhood. On December 16, 1866, she was united in marriage with her now bereaved husband Charles Crocker. After a couple of years spent in Danville township, they moved to Mr. Crocker's farm in the northeast corner of Des Moines county, where they lived until four years ago this spring. At that time, Mr. Crocker desiring to retire from active farm work moved to their home in Mt. Union, where they have lived since. They raised a family of four children, two sons, John A. and Frank H., of near Mt. Union, and two daughter, Mrs. Nettie Short of near New London and Mrs. Edith Hermann of Burlington. Besides these one child died in early infancy.
Mrs. Crocker died on Thursday, April 30, 1908, aged 70 years, 3 months and 1 day. In addition to her husband and four children named, Mrs. Crocker leaves surviving her three grandchildren and also one sister, Mrs. Lou J. Miller, of Packwood, Iowa, and two brother, T.B. Snyder of Ft. Madison and W.J. Snyder, of Burlington, Ia. Mrs. Crocker was stricken with the ailment which terminated her life, March 13 last. The same day word of her misfortune was sent to her children and her sister and brothers and all were there to see her before sunset on that day. From this fact it will not be difficult for each one to draw his or her own conclusion. For many years Mrs. Crocker has been a faithful member of the Methodist church in Mt. Union.
(A family memo had that she was born NEAR Moundsville, W.Va.)

There was another child we are not certain where he was buried, and he was:
Theodore Byron Crocker--Born: February 24, 1869 and died February 26, 1869 per family Bible records. I don't know if he was buried at Trinity--there was no record there or possibly in Burge Cemetery where the grandparents were buried, Sampson & Mary Crocker OR where? I would think if he were buried at Trinity cem., they would have had a stone for him. He might have been buried at the farmstead--unknown at present but would like him noted as part of the family. Since others of Sarah's family were buried at Carter cem., I wonder about that location, also. There should have been a stone somewhere.
