Rachel Snyder was born Jan. 29, 1829 in Marshall Co., W. Virginia and married Oliver Little on July 12, 1849 in the home of her parents in Des Moines county, Ia. (Marriage Bk.3 entry #145) She was the 1st wife of Oliver Little and the mother of 6 children. They were: William T. Little born in 1851, Arthur Little in 1852, Charles "Charlie" Little born in 1853, James K. Little born 22 Nov 1854, Hester A. Little White born 13 Dec 1856 and Frankie Little, her last child, born about 1858 and died in 1866.
