Born third child of eleven to Johann Michael Lorentz/Lawrence & Catharine Sweitzer. Albert worked at a great variety of things during the course of his life, but he was always a butcher at the same time. He was in business alone most of the time but also partnered with Buzby and then Bartle in 1877 & 1878. Albert was married twice and outlived both wives. He was first married to Catharine Hays, then upon her death in 1869, to Mary Duff. Albert had 6 children by Catharine, 4 more with Mary. Only four survived childhood. Albert was generous and helping towards his siblings.
