Named after his maternal grandfather, Banks Davis as the first born child to Jonathan and Ann (or Amy) Disbrow. He married Drucilla Mann on 23 July 1850 and the couple had nine children, namely, Francis Marion, Elvira, John L, Volney Alaska, Adlaste, Levi Clinton, Sally Mary, Willis and Wesley Grant.

Banks D.Gaddis died Wednesday afternoon at his home,1204 N.Church street of paralysis,aged 75 years. Mr.Gaddis was born in Clinton county, Ohio in 1863, since which time he has resided in or near Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs.Drusilla Gaddis and five children, F. M.Gaddis, Wesley G. Gaddis, Z. A. Gaddis and Miss Sallie Gaddis of this city and L. C.Gaddis of Centralia.
The funeral will be held Friday.
