Brother Charles F. Corn, 66, of Hendersonville, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, at the Four Seasons Hospice Elizabeth House following a lengthy illness.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Henderson County. He was a son of the late J.A. and Mallee Gertrude Henderson Corn. He loved his family and was a faithful, loving servant to his church, Fairhaven Baptist Church, where he served as pastor for the past 35 years.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Phyllis Ann Stancil Corn; two daughters, Patricia Ann Corn Magnet of Hendersonville and Rhonda Charlene Corn Quimby and her husband, Roy, of Brevard; a brother, Clarence J. Corn and his wife, Genell, of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren, Christopher and Anthony Magnet, Robert and Phillip Beal, and Christie, Roy, Jessica and Nathan Quimby, all of Hendersonville; one great-granddaughter, Dynise Kimry of Hendersonville; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fairhaven Baptist Church with the Revs. Clarence K. Porter, Gary Guinn and Walter Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the church and at other times, at the home.
