Ida was born to Andreas Nielsen Ljungberg and Kirsten Pedersdatter.

Sometime prior to 1863, Ida joined the Mormon church.

Ida married:

(1) Daniel Samuel Atherley June 26, 1863 in Florence, Douglas County, Nebraska

Florence was the stopping off point where Mormons outfitted themselves for the long trip across the country to Utah. In 1863, Ida and Daniel traveled with an unidentified wagon train to Salt Lake City, Utah.

They settled in Newton and then Goshen, towns in Utah County, Utah. Ida divorced Daniel October 23, 1896 in Provo, Utah.

They had at least nine children together:

Sarah Olive Atherley (1864 - 1945)
Inger Augusta Atherley (1865 - 1931)
Paulina Mary Ann Atherley (1867 - )
Ida Amalie Atherley (1868 - 1924)
Daniel John Atherley (1870 - 1935)
Christina Safie Atherley (1873 - 1941)
Maria Louisa Atherley (1875 - 1879)
Helena Johanna Atherley (1876 - 1926)
Adolph Andreas Atherley (1878 - 1940)

Ida divorced Daniel October 23, 1896 in Provo, Utah.

(2) John Bickle Phare

The records are unclear about the exact date of John and Ida's marriage: they were both living in Utah, but moved to Missouri, where Ida gave birth to three children starting in 1884; however, to date, no one has found a marriage record prior to 1884.

There is an unequivocable marriage record for them for November 14, 1896 in Provo, Utah. The record was for: John Phare, 72 years old, residence: Kansas City, Missouri, and Mrs. Ida Atherly, 53 years old, residence: Provo, Utah.

Ida and John had three children together:

May L. Phare (1884 - )
Carl Edmond Phare (1885 - 1962)
Mary Frances Phare (1888 - 1961)

California Death Index:

Ida E. Dahare; Age: 76; Death date: November 17, 1919; Los Angeles; Certificate: 42053

Death certificate: (Complete certificate number: 19-042053)

[Someone wrote over Ida's last name on the original death certificate (probably to "clarify" the writing); they made her last name "Dahare", instead of "Phare". That mistake made its way to the index.]

The death certificate recorded her burial site as "Rosedale Crematory; Burial date: Nov 21, 1919"

Informant on the death certificate: Ida's daughter, Mary Frances Phare (Crandall)
*************************
Ida was cremated at the Angelus Rosedale Crematorium. She was buried in the cemetery, but because no one came to claim her ashes, they were "interred without record". The cemetery staff have no more information for Ida and have no way of finding where she is buried in the cemetery. (Information gathered 8/4/2015)
