Thomas R. Alverson, aged 55 years, died at his home in Nicholasville, Monday afternoon after a week's illness from abscess on the lung. Mr. Alverson was born in Jessamine county near Sulphur Well, and had lived here all of his life. He was a blacksmith, a good workman, and has a large number of friends. Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Emily Alverson, aged 90 years, who lives at Hanley, two sisters, Sallie and Louella; three brothers, Henry and Smith Alverson, of Jessamine county, and John Alverson, of St. Joseph, Mo; also six children, two sons, Stanley and Welch Alverson, of Jessamine county, four daughters, Misses Lois, Lillian, Grace and Edna, and his wife. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, conducted by Rev. J. E. Moss. Interment in Maple Grove Cemetery.
