August Mentzel, seventy-six years old, died at the family residence on East Plymouth street Tuesday morning after an illness of several months.
He was a son of Mr and Mrs Charles Mentzel and was born in Marshall county August 14, 1863. He was seventy-six years and nine months old at the time of his death Tuesday.
On August 8, 1897, he was united in marriage with Nancy Wise, who survives. Other surviving relatives are one son, Charles Mentzel of Bremen; four daughters, Mrs Emma Heft of New Holstein, Wis, Mrs Hazel Kcyski of Mishawaka, Mrs Laura Hardy and Mrs Sarah Zillmer of Bremen; one sister, Mrs Susan Page of South Bend.
Funeral services will be held this afternoon at two oclock at Grace United Brethren church. Rev E C Reidenbach, pastor of the church, will officiate in the service and burial will be in the Bremen cemetery.

Florence Agnes, the little daughter of Mr and Mrs August Mentzel, died on Tuesdav of last week, aged two years, 10 months & 17 days.
Funeral services were held at the family residence, three miles southwest of town, Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev L O Oyler.
Mr and Mrs Mentzel have the sympathy of their many friends and thank them for their many acts of kindness and assistance.
