Vernon Howard Howell, 62 of Ozark, Arkansas died, Friday, February 3, 2012 in Ozark. He was a veteran. He was born May 5, 1950 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Herbert Lee Howell and Sarah Estelle Rosetta Qualls. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jackie Ray Howell of Andrews, Texas and David Lester Howell of Heber Springs, Arkansas; sister, Rozetta Howell of Ozark and brother in law Paul Casey of Barling, Arkansas.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at Houston Cemetery in Altus, under the direction of Shaffer Funeral Home.
He is survived by his daughter, Candi Vetere and husband Richard of Canton Georgia ;two sons, Jeremiah Howell and wife Vanessa Scranton Arkansas and Richard Howell and wife Julia of Bella Vista Arkansas and one goddaughter Sophie Jennings of Altus Aarkansas; sisters, Ethel Vaughn and husband Sid of Caddo, Oklahoma, Joyce Casey of Barling, Faye Ellis and husband Leo of Hobbs, New Mexico and Alice Darlene of Odessa, Texas; two brothers, Ricky Howell and wife Nellie of Checotah, Oklahoma and Kenneth Howell and wife Kim of Altus, Arkansas; six grandchildren, Amber Marie Hornal, Faith Raylin Sharp, Cadence Howard and Maddison Rose Howell and Jayda Rose and Jace Kye Vetere; Best friends and family at heart, Rick and Denise Mayfield of Ozark and Leon Armstrong and will be deeply missed by over one hundred twenty nieces and nephews.
The family will visit with friends 6:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W Commercial in Ozark.
